Spaniard Nuria Parrizas Diaz, the No 4 seed, beat French lucky loser Carole Monnet 6-7 (4), 6-3, 6-2 to advance to the last eight of the Montreux Nestlé Open on Wednesday.
Parrizas Diaz, ranked No 100, will face the winner of the match between Liechtensteiner lucky loser Kathinka von Deichmann and Swiss Jil Teichmann next.
In the previous round, the 33-year-old Spaniard won against Frenchwoman Selena Janicijevic (6-0, 6-1).
Monnet, ranked No 244, won against Belarusian wildcard Kristina Dmitruk (2-6, 6-3, 6-3) in the previous round.
