Italian Lucia Bronzetti, the No 8 seed, advanced to the last eight of the Ningbo Open by defeating Ukrainian Kateryna Baindl 6-3, 6-3 on Wednesday night.
Bronzetti, ranked No 65, will play the winner of the match between Linda Fruhvirtova and Russian Anna Blinkova, the No 4 seed, next.
Ahead of her victory, the Italian won against Swiss qualifier Jil Teichmann (7-6 (6), 6-4).
Baindl, ranked No 88, won against Chinese wildcard Yue Yuan (3-6, 6-4, 6-3) in the previous round.
