Ningbo Open: Fruhvirtova books spot in semi-finals

Linda Fruhvirtova reached the semi-finals of the Ningbo Open by beating Italian Lucia Bronzetti, the No 8 seed, 6-0, 6-3 on Thursday night.
Fruhvirtova, ranked No 117, will play the winner of the match between Russian Diana Shnaider and second seed Petra Kvitova next.
Linda Fruhvirtova benefited from the abandonment of Spaniard Rebeka Masarova (1-6, 6-2, 1-0) and won against Russian Anna Blinkova, the No 4 seed (6-3, 3-6, 6-1) ahead of her victory.
Earlier in the tournament, Bronzetti, ranked No 65, defeated Swiss qualifier Jil Teichmann (7-6 (6), 6-4) and Ukrainian Kateryna Baindl (6-3, 6-3).
