Nordea Open: Davis advances to last four
Lauren Davis beat Rebecca Peterson 6-3, 6-2 on Thursday afternoon and will face the winner of the match between Spaniard Rebeka Masarova and Slovak Anna-Karolina Schmiedlova, the second seed, in the next round
American Lauren Davis, the No 6 seed, advanced to the semi-finals of the Nordea Open by winning against Swede Rebecca Peterson, the No 4 seed, 6-3, 6-2 at Båstad Tennisstadion in Bastad on Thursday afternoon.
Davis, ranked No 102, will play the winner of the match between Spaniard Rebeka Masarova and Slovak Anna-Karolina Schmiedlova, the second seed, next.
Earlier in the tournament, the American defeated Swede wildcard Kajsa Rinaldo Persson (6-2, 6-1) and Ukrainian Katarina Zavatska (6-4, 6-1).
Peterson, ranked No 96, won against Norwegian Malene Helgo (6-4, 6-2) and Frenchwoman Leolia Jeanjean (4-6, 7-5, 6-3) in the previous rounds of the Swedish Open.
