Nordea Open: Top seed Navarro into quarters, faces Zidansek

American Emma Navarro, the top seed, reached the last eight of the Nordea Open by winning against Swede Mirjam Bjorklund 7-6 (2), 1-6, 6-1 at Båstad Tennisstadion in Bastad on Wednesday afternoon.

Navarro, ranked No 55, will face Slovenian Tamara Zidansek next.

Ahead of her victory, the 22-year-old American defeated Russian Polina Kudermetova (6-3, 6-2).

Bjorklund, ranked No 136, won against wildcard Jacqueline Cabaj Awad (6-1, 6-4) in the previous round of the Swedish Open.
