American Katie Volynets, the second seed, advanced to the final of the Oeiras Ladies Open by winning against Swiss Simona Waltert 6-1, 6-4 on Saturday evening.
Volynets, ranked No 80, will play Hungarian Dalma Galfi next.
In the previous rounds, the American beat Italian Giorgia Pedone (6-2, 6-1), Slovenian Tamara Zidansek (6-4, 6-3) and Andorran Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva (6-2, 6-1).
Waltert, ranked No 161, defeated Portuguese wildcard Matilde Jorge (6-4, 4-6, 6-4), Italian Elisabetta Cocciaretto, the No 3 seed (6-3, 3-6, 6-3) and Serb Nina Stojanovic (6-4, 7-6 (5)) earlier in the tournament.
