Slovenian Kaja Juvan reached the quarter-finals of the Open Internacional Femení Solgironès by winning against Spanish wildcard Guiomar Maristany Zuleta De Reales 6-4, 6-2 on Thursday night.
Juvan, ranked No 226, will face the winner of the match between Hungarian Panna Udvardy, the No 3 seed, and Georgian qualifier Ekaterine Gorgodze next.
The 22-year-old Slovenian beat Russian Diana Shnaider, the No 6 seed (7-6 (2), 6-3) ahead of her victory.
In the previous round, Maristany Zuleta De Reales, ranked No 305, defeated wildcard Yvonne Cavalle-Reimers (6-3, 6-2).
