Palermo Open: Muchova outlasts Noha Akugue to make quarter-finals
Karolina Muchova won against Noma Noha Akugue 6-7, 6-2, 6-3 on Wednesday evening and will play the winner of the match between Astra Sharma and wildcard Ajla Tomljanovic in the next round

Second seed Karolina Muchova reached the quarter-finals of the Palermo Open by winning against German qualifier Noma Noha Akugue 6-7, 6-2, 6-3 at A.S.D. Country Time Club on Wednesday evening.
Muchova, ranked No 35, will face the winner of the match between Astra Sharma and wildcard Ajla Tomljanovic next.
Ahead of her victory, Karolina Muchova benefited from the abandonment of Pole qualifier Katarzyna Kawa (7-6 (14), 5-1).
Noha Akugue, ranked No 197, defeated qualifier Mona Barthel (6-4, 2-6, 6-2) in the previous round of the Palermo tournament.
