Frenchwoman Chloe Paquet reached the last 8 of the Palermo Open by winning against Argentinian Maria Lourdes Carle 6-3, 6-1 at A.S.D. Country Time Club.
Paquet, ranked No 115, will face Frenchwoman Diane Parry, the No 4 seed, next.
In the previous round of the Palermo tournament, the Frenchwoman beat Chinese Saisai Zheng (6-3, 6-3).
Carle, ranked No 93, won against German Tatjana Maria, the No 8 seed (5-7, 6-1, 6-1) in the first round of the Palermo tournament.
