Palermo Open: Parry books spot in last 8

Diane Parry won against Yulia Putintseva 6-3, 6-4 on Thursday evening and will play Romanian Irina-Camelia Begu, the No 6 seed, in the next round

Frenchwoman Diane Parry beat Kazakh Yulia Putintseva, the second seed, 6-3, 6-4 to move into the last 8 of the Palermo Open at A.S.D. Country Time Club in Palerme on Thursday evening.

Parry, ranked No 86, will face Romanian Irina-Camelia Begu, the No 6 seed, next.

In the previous round, the 19-year-old Frenchman won against American Lauren Davis (7-6 (5), 6-2).

Putintseva, ranked No 39, defeated Australian lucky loser Jaimee Fourlis (6-3, 6-1) in the previous round.
