Paolini become first Italian woman to make Miami Open semi-finals
Jasmine Paolini won against Magda Linette 6-3, 6-2 on Tuesday night and will face the winner of the match between Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka, the top seed, and Chinese Qinwen Zheng, the No 9 seed, in the next round

Italian Jasmine Paolini, the No 6 seed, moved into the semi-finals of the Miami Open by defeating Pole Magda Linette 6-3, 6-2 at the Hard Rock Stadium on Tuesday night.
In doing so, Paolini became the first-ever Italian woman to make the final four of the Miami Open.
Paolini, ranked No 7, will play the winner of the match between Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka, the top seed, and Chinese Qinwen Zheng, the No 9 seed, next.
Earlier in the tournament, the Italian won against Slovak Rebecca Sramkova (6-4, 6-4), Tunisian Ons Jabeur, the No 31 seed (4-3 ret.) and Japanese Naomi Osaka (3-6, 6-4, 6-4).
Linette, ranked No 34, won against Russian Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova (7-6 (3), 6-2), Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova, the No 18 seed (7-6 (5), 6-2), qualifier Linda Fruhvirtova (7-5, 6-4) and American Coco Gauff, the No 3 seed (6-4, 6-4) in the previous rounds of the Miami tournament.
