Romanian Ana Bogdan, the second seed, lifted the Parma Ladies Open trophy by defeating Slovak Anna Karolina Schmiedlova, the top seed, 7-5, 6-1 on Saturday afternoon.
Ahead of her victory, Bogdan, ranked No 71, beat Spaniard Marina Bassols Ribera (6-1, 7-5), Ukrainian Katarina Zavatska (4-6, 6-2, 6-4), No 5 seed Jaqueline Cristian (4-6, 6-1, 7-6 (1)) and Hungarian Anna Bondar, the No 7 seed (6-3, 6-4).
Schmiedlova, ranked No 58, defeated Frenchwoman Carole Monnet (6-3, 6-4), Hungarian Reka Luca Jani (6-3, 6-2), Slovenian Kaja Juvan, the No 6 seed (6-1, 6-7 (4), 6-4) and Pole qualifier Katarzyna Kawa (7-5, 7-5) in the previous rounds.
