Slovenian Kaja Juvan, the No 6 seed, moved into the last 16 of the Parma Ladies Open by winning against German Noma Noha Akugue 6-4, 6-4 on Tuesday afternoon.
Juvan, ranked No 108, will face Frenchwoman Chloe Paquet next.
