Australian Maya Joint, the No 5 seed, reached the last 8 of the Polish Open by defeating Serb Nina Stojanovic 6-3, 2-6, 6-1 on Wednesday.
Joint, ranked No 159, will play the winner of the match between Georgian Mariam Bolkvadze and Pole wildcard Gina Feistel next.
The 18-year-old Australian won against Croat Antonia Ruzic (5-7, 6-2, 6-3) ahead of her victory.
In the previous round, Nina Stojanovic won against Slovak Viktoria Hruncakova (4-6, 6-4, 6-3).
