Frenchwoman Leolia Jeanjean moved into the last eight of the Puerto Vallarta Open by winning against Canadian Rebecca Marino 6-3, 4-6, 6-2 on Thursday.
Jeanjean, ranked No 147, will play lucky loser Mccartney Kessler next.
Ahead of her victory, the Frenchwoman beat Belgian Yanina Wickmayer, the second seed (6-0, 7-5).
Marino, ranked No 146, won against Mexican wildcard Maria Fernanda Navarro Oliva (6-4, 6-2) in the previous round.
