Canadian Leylah Fernandez beat Spanish wildcard Paula Badosa 0-6, 6-2, 6-3 to move into the last 16 of the Qatar Open at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex in Doha.
Fernandez, ranked No 38, will face Chinese Qinwen Zheng, the No 5 seed, next.
Ahead of her victory, the 21-year-old Canadian beat Russian Liudmila Samsonova, the No 12 seed (7-5, 7-6 (4)).
Badosa, ranked No 79, edged out American qualifier Ashlyn Krueger (6-3, 4-6, 6-4) in the previous round of the Qatar tournament.
