American Amanda Anisimova, the No 8 seed, advanced to the quarter-finals of the Queen’s by beating wildcard Sonay Kartal 6-1, 6-3 at Queen’s Club in London on Wednesday.
Anisimova, ranked No 15, will face American Emma Navarro, the No 3 seed, next.
In the previous round of the Queen’s tournament, the American edged out wildcard Jodie Burrage (4-6, 6-3, 6-4).
Kartal, ranked No 50, won against Australian Daria Kasatkina (6-1, 3-6, 6-3) during the first round of the Queen’s tournament.
