Australian Ajla Tomljanovic defeated Bulgarian Viktoriya Tomova, the No 5 seed, 7-5, 4-6, 6-3 to reach the second round of the Rabat Open at Union Sportive des Cheminots du Maroc on Monday.
Tomljanovic, ranked No 79, will play the winner of the match between Italian qualifier Tatiana Pieri and Spaniard Carlota Martinez Cirez next.
