Rabat Open: Tomova books semi–final spot

Viktoriya Tomova beat German Laura Siegemund 6-4, 6-3 to advance to the semi-finals of the Rabat Open at Union Sportive des Cheminots du Maroc on Thursday afternoon.
Ranked No 84, Tomova will face American Peyton Stearns after Stearns came back from 5-0 down in the third set to defeat Italian Lucia Bronzetti, the No 4 seed.
The Bulgarian previously ousted qualifier Berfu Cengiz (6-2, 6-1) and Chinese Yafan Wang (7-6 (4), 6-0) ahead of her victory over Siegemund.
Earlier in the tournament, Siegemund, ranked No 78, got the best of Russian Anna Blinkova, the second seed (6-1, 7-6 (4)) and Colombian Camila Osorio Serrano (6-4, 6-4).
