Top seed Emma Raducanu, World No. 23, secured her place in the Transylvania Open final on Friday, February 6, 2026, defeating Ukraine’s Oleksandra Oliynykova. The 2021 US Open champion overcame a mid-match surge from the 91st-ranked Oliynykova to prevail 7-5, 3-6, 6-3 in a grueling encounter in Cluj-Napoca.
This victory marks a major milestone for Raducanu, who has reached her first WTA final since her historic 2021 US Open triumph four years and five months ago. Prior to this week, her only other professional final was a WTA 125 event in Chicago in August 2021.
To reach the championship match, the Briton also defeated Maja Chwalinska (6-0, 6-4), Kaja Juvan (7-5, 6-1), and Greet Minnen (6-0, 6-4). Raducanu will now face either the No 3 seed Sorana Cirstea [ROU, 35] or qualifier Daria Snigur [UKR, 23] for the title.
