Italian Elisabetta Cocciaretto defeated Dutchwoman Suzan Lamens 6-2, 7-6 (4) to move into the semi-finals of the’s-Hertogenbosch Open at Autotron Rosmalen on Friday.
Cocciaretto, ranked No 123, will face the winner of the match between Romanian qualifier Elena-Gabriela Ruse and Canadian wildcard Bianca Andreescu next.
The Italian won against Dutch wildcard Arianne Hartono (7-6 (11), 7-5) and American Bernarda Pera (6-1, 7-6 (4)) in the previous rounds of the Rosmalen tournament.
Earlier in the tournament, Lamens, ranked No 72, beat Belgian qualifier Yanina Wickmayer (6-3, 0-6, 6-3) and American Ann Li (7-6 (4), 7-6 (5)).
