‘s-Hertogenbosch Open: Samsonova makes semi-finals

Russian Liudmila Samsonova, the second seed, beat Belgian Greet Minnen 6-4, 7-5 to advance to the last 4 of the’s-Hertogenbosch Open at Autotron Rosmalen on Friday.
Samsonova, ranked No 15, will face the winner of the match between American qualifier Robin Montgomery and Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova, the No 3 seed, next.
The Russian won against Belgian Alison Van Uytvanck (6-1, 6-3) and Swiss wildcard Celine Naef (7-5, 6-2) in the previous rounds of the Rosmalen tournament.
Earlier in the tournament, Minnen, ranked No 85, won against Spaniard Rebeka Masarova (6-2, 6-4) and edged out Croat Donna Vekic, the No 7 seed (6-1, 0-6, 7-5).
