American Katie Volynets moved into the last 16 of the Saint-Malo Open by beating French wildcard Margaux Rouvroy 7-5, 6-2 at the Parc des sports de Marville on Monday.
Volynets, ranked No 103, will face the winner of the match between Brazilian Laura Pigossi and Belgian Maryna Zanevska, the No 3 seed, next.
