Singapore Open: Second seed Mertens eases into last 4

Belgian Elise Mertens, the second seed, reached the last 4 of the Singapore Open by winning against Colombian Camila Osorio, the No 6 seed, 6-4, 6-2 at the Kallang Tennis Hub on Friday afternoon.
Mertens, ranked No 32, will face Chinese Xinyu Wang, the No 4 seed, next.
The Belgian beat American Taylor Townsend (6-1, 6-0) and German Tatjana Maria (6-7 (3), 6-3, 6-1) ahead of her victory.
In the previous rounds of the Singapore Open 2025, Osorio, ranked No 55, won against American Bernarda Pera (6-1, 6-7, 6-3) and edged out qualifier Dominika Salkova (3-6, 6-2, 6-4).
