Frenchwoman Diane Parry won against Russian Anastasia Potapova 7-6 (2), 6-4 to advance to the last eight of the Slovenia Open at Tennis Arena Portoroz on Thursday.
Parry, ranked No 71, will face the winner of the match between top seed Emma Raducanu and German qualifier Anna-Lena Friedsam next.
Ahead of her victory, the 20-year-old Frenchman beat Croat Donna Vekic (2-6, 6-4, 6-1).
Potapova, ranked No 45, won against American Claire Liu (6-4, 7-6 (5)) in the previous round.
