Ukrainian Elina Svitolina defeated Serb Olga Danilovic, the No 3 seed, 6-4, 7-6 (8) to win the Rouen Open trophy at the Kindarena on Sunday.

The 30-year-old took her record in finals to 18-4, coming from 5-3 down in the tiebreak before finally taking victory on her fifth match point.

Svitolina, ranked No 18, beat Swiss Jil Teichmann (6-4, 6-2), Anhelina Kalinina (6-4, 6-0), Spaniard Jessica Bouzas Maneiro (6-3, 6-2) and Romanian Elena-Gabriela Ruse (6-0, 6-2) in the previous rounds of the Rouen tournament.

Earlier in the tournament, Danilovic, ranked No 39, beat qualifier Aleksandra Krunic (5-7, 6-0, 6-3), lucky loser Linda Fruhvirtova (6-2, 3-6, 6-4), Japanese Moyuka Uchijima, the No 5 seed (7-6 (9), 4-6, 6-1) and Dutchwoman Suzan Lamens (6-4, 6-4).
