Russian Anna Kalinskaya, the No 4 seed, beat American Varvara Lepchenko 6-1, 6-2 to move into the quarter-finals of the Tampico Open at the Centro Libanés Mexicano de Tampico on Thursday evening.
Kalinskaya, ranked No 115, will face the winner of the match between No 7 seed Katie Volynets and Hailey Baptiste next.
The Russian won against American qualifier Jessie Aney (6-1, 6-1) ahead of her victory, while in the previous round of the Tampico tournament, Lepchenko, ranked No 341, won against Belarusian Jana Kolodynska (6-4, 7-6).
