Tampico Open: Tikhonova beats Udvardy to move into quarter-finals
The Russian will play the winner of the match between Katarina Kozarov and Russian Kamilla Rakhimova, the No 5 seed, in the next round

Russian Anastasia Tikhonova beat Hungarian Panna Udvardy 6-3, 6-3 to advance to the quarter-finals of the Tampico Open at the Centro Libanés Mexicano de Tampico on Thursday.
Tikhonova, ranked No 225, will play the winner of the match between Katarina Kozarov and Russian Kamilla Rakhimova, the No 5 seed, next.
The 22-year-old Russian won against Mexican lucky loser Daniela Schekaiban (6-0, 6-0) ahead of her win today.
Earlier in the week, Udvardy, ranked No 123, defeated Mexican qualifier Jessica Hinojosa Gomez (6-7 (3), 6-0, 6-1).
