American Katie Volynets, the No 6 seed, moved into the last 16 of the Thailand Open 2 by defeating Dane Clara Tauson 7-6 (2), 4-6, 6-3 on Monday.
Volynets, ranked No 60, will play Slovenian Tamara Zidansek next.
