Egyptian Mayar Sherif, the No 5 seed, beat Romanian wildcard Miriam Bulgaru 6-4, 6-2 to reach the last 16 of the Tiriac Foundation Trophy on Tuesday.
Sherif, ranked No 74, will play the winner of the match between Romanian wildcard Andreea Rosca and Austrian Julia Grabher next.
