Russian qualifier Anna Blinkova reached the last eight of the Transylvania Open by Verdino by defeating Chinese Xinyu Wang 6-4, 2-6, 6-1 on Thursday evening.
Blinkova, ranked No 138, will face Ukrainian Anhelina Kalinina, the second seed, next.
The Russian won against qualifier Anastasia Zakharova (6-1, 7-6 (7)) in the previous round. Wang, ranked No 80, beat Pole Magda Linette, the No 5 seed (6-2, 6-4).
