Chinese Xiyu Wang, the No 7 seed, advanced to the last 16 of the Transylvania Open by Verdino by beating Romanian Jaqueline Cristian 6-3, 6-3 on Tuesday afternoon.
Wang, ranked No 59, will play the winner of the match between Romanian wildcard Elena-Gabriela Ruse and French lucky loser Harmony Tan next.
