American Caty McNally, the No 6 seed, won against Slovenian Tamara Zidansek 7-6 (3), 7-6 (1) to move into the last eight of the Trophée Clarins at the Lagardère Paris Racing on Thursday.
McNally, ranked No 62, will play the winner of the match between Japanese Nao Hibino and Frenchwoman Oceane Dodin next.
The 21-year-old American beat Frenchwoman Kristina Mladenovic (6-4, 6-4) ahead of her victory.
In the previous round, Zidansek, ranked No 110, defeated French qualifier Lois Boisson (6-4, 6-4).
