Upper Austria Ladies: Burel knocks out Siniakova to make last eight

Frenchwoman Clara Burel reached the quarter-finals of the Upper Austria Ladies by edging out Katerina Siniakova 6-3, 5-7, 6-4 at the TipsArena in Linz.

Burel, ranked No 52, will face the winner of the match between Ukrainian wildcard Dayana Yastremska and Croat Donna Vekic, the No 3 seed, next.

In the previous round of the Linz tournament, the 22-year-old Frenchman defeated Austrian wildcard Sinja Kraus (6-1, 6-4).

Siniakova, ranked No 49, edged out Croat Petra Martic, the No 8 seed (4-6, 6-3, 7-5) during the first round of the Linz tournament.
