Western & Southern Open: Muchova moves past Martic for meeting with Sakkari
Karolina Muchova held off Petra Martic in three sets at the WTA Cincinnati 1000 on Wednesday. Muchova will meet Maria Sakkari for a place in the quarter-finals.

Karolina Muchova moved into the third round of the Western & Southern Open by winning against Croat Petra Martic 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 at the Linder Tennis Family Center in Cincinnati on Wednesday evening.
Muchova, ranked No 17, will face Greek Maria Sakkari, the No 8 seed, next.
Karolina Muchova edged out Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia, the No 12 seed (6-7 (3), 6-1, 6-4) in the previous round of the Cincy Open.
During the 64 of the Cincy Open, Martic, ranked No 36, beat American qualifier Emma Navarro (6-2, 3-6, 6-3).
