Western & Southern Open: Noskova into third round with win over Kvitova

Qualifier Linda Noskova moved into the third round of the Western & Southern Open by edging out No 9 seed Petra Kvitova 3-6, 6-2, 6-4 at the Linder Tennis Family Center in Cincinnati on Wednesday evening.
Noskova, ranked No 50, will face the winner of the match between Egyptian Mayar Sherif and American Coco Gauff, the No 7 seed, next.
Linda Noskova beat Russian Liudmila Samsonova (2-6, 6-3, 6-1) ahead of her victory.
In the previous round of the Cincy Open, Kvitova, ranked No 9, won against Russian Anna Blinkova (7-6 (2), 6-0).
