As always, the WTA rankings have undergone a significant reshuffle in the aftermath of Wimbledon. There’s a fresh face in the world’s top 10, two new names in the top five, and a host of others who have taken big leaps – or falls – courtesy of their performances in London the past fortnight.

Here’s what the top 10 of the WTA rankings looks like following Wimbledon:

  1. Aryna Sabalenka (12420)
  2. Coco Gauff (7669)
  3. Iga Swiatek (6813)
  4. Jessica Pegula (6423)
  5. Mirra Andreeva (5163)
  6. Qinwen Zheng (4803)
  7. Amanda Anisimova (4497)
  8. Madison Keys (4374)
  9. Jasmine Paolini (3576)
  10. Paula Badosa (3454)

Despite falling in the semi-finals, Sabalenka holds onto top spot in the WTA rankings. The Belarusian has an enormous lead on the rest of the field, sitting almost 5000 points clear of No 2 ranked Gauff, who also sees her ranking unchanged despite losing in round one.

Swiatek catapults back up the rankings, however, with the former world No 1 moving up to third spot off the back of her Wimbledon title, having been No 8 heading into the tournament. Andreeva also enters the top five, marking a career-high ranking courtesy of her run to the Wimbledon quarters.

Beaten Wimbledon finalist Anisimova also hits a career high, coming in at No 7 and bumping Emma Navarro out of the top 10. Paolini just holds onto her spot in the elite group, but falls five spots from No 4 to No 9 after her early loss in London.

Bencic on the rise, Krejcikova plummets

Looking at some of the other big movers in the wake of Wimbledon, none have taken bigger hits to their ranking than last year’s champion Barbora Krejcikova. The Czech crashed out in the third round this time, dropping 1870 ranking points and falling from No 16 to No 77 in the world.

Donna Vekic also took a tumble down the ladder, dropping 27 spots and falling out of the top 50 to world No 52 after she failed to defend last year’s points.

However, there were others who had big gains. Surprise quarter-finalist Laura Siegemund rocketed up 50 places, coming from outside the world’s top 100 to No 54 in the world. Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova moved up 20 spots to return to No 30, while beaten semi-finalist Belinda Bencic moved up 15 places to world No 20.

A raft of players made new career highs as well, with Clara Tauson (19), Linda Noskova (23), Ashlyn Krueger (29), Tatjana Maria (40), Hailey Baptiste (48) and Victoria Mboko (86) some of the notable movers.
