Marta Kostyuk won the first WTA title of her career on Sunday and her reward is a first-ever appearance in the top 40 of the WTA rankings.
Kostyuk, who defeated Varvara Gracheva in the final of the ATX Open, will be No 40 in the world on Monday. Her previous career-high mark was No 49 and she was No 52 going into the Austin tournament, so she surged up 12 spots.
Gracheva climbs from 88th to 66th.
Vekic vaults to No 23
Donna Vekic triumphed at the Abierto GNP Seguros on Sunday. Vekic defeated Caroline Garcia 6-4, 3-6, 7-5 in Monterrey following a two-hour and 30-minute battle.
The Croat climbs to No 23 from her previous mark of No 31. Here career high is 19th, which she reached in November of 2019.
Garcia had a chance to reach No 4 with a title, but instead the Frenchwoman will remain at No 5.
