Reigning Wimbledon champion Barbora Krejcikova, seed No 7, lost 6-3, 7-5 to American qualifier Hailey Baptiste in the second round of the Wuhan Open at the Optics Valley International Tennis Center on Wednesday.
Baptiste, ranked No 102, will play the winner of the match between Ekaterina Alexandrova and No 10 seed Anna Kalinskaya next.
The 22-year-old American won against Frenchwoman Diane Parry (6-4, 7-5) in the previous round of the Wuhan tournament.
