Russian Erika Andreeva, the No 8 seed, beat Sara Bejlek 6-4, 6-4 to advance to the quarter-finals of the Zavarovalnica Sava Ljubljana on Thursday night.
Andreeva, ranked No 164, will play No 4 seed Tamara Zidansek next.
The 19-year-old Russian won against lucky loser Andrea Gamiz (3-6, 6-4, 6-3) in the previous round.
During the 32, Bejlek, ranked No 209, won against Russian Amina Anshba (6-3, 6-1).
