German qualifier Laura Siegemund advanced to the second round of the Zhengzhou Open by defeating Chinese Lin Zhu 6-2, 6-3 at Zhongyuan Tennis Training Base Management Center on Tuesday.
Siegemund, ranked No 113, will play Russian Liudmila Samsonova, the No 11 seed, next.
