German Andrea Petkovic defeated Frenchwoman Oceane Dodin 6-4, 6-2 to reach the second round of Roland-Garros in Paris on Monday.
A former top 10 player, Petkovic, now ranked No 65, has been a semi-finalist at the French Open in 2014. She will next meet either Victoria Azarenka or Ana Bogdan, whose first-round match was interrupted by rain on Court 14..
