Spaniard Pablo Carreno Busta beat Pole Hubert Hurkacz, the No 8 seed, 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 to lift the Montreal Masters trophy at Stade IGA on Sunday evening.
The Spaniard claims his maiden Masters 1000 title, and his seventh overall.
“It’s an amazing feeling to be a Masters1000 winner,” said Carreno Busta. “It’s the best title of my career for sure.”
The Spaniard played a flawless contest to rally from a set down, hitting 22 winners against 12 unforced errors against Hurkacz, who hit 29 winners and 29 unforced errors.
