Ukrainian Kateryna Baindl reached the last eight of the Tiriac Foundation Trophy by defeating Spanish qualifier Aliona Bolsova 6-4, 6-4 on Thursday.
Baindl, ranked No 134, will face the winner of the match between Irina Bara and second seed Irina-Camelia Begu next.
The Ukrainian won against Montenegrin Danka Kovinic, the No 7 seed (6-4, 6-2) ahead of her victory.
In the previous round, Bolsova, ranked No 206, won against Argentinian lucky loser Maria Lourdes Carle (6-1, 7-6 (8)).
