Swiss Indoors Basel: Alcaraz makes quarter-finals
Carlos Alcaraz won against Botic van de Zandschulp 6-4, 6-2 on Wednesday evening

Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, the top seed, advanced to the quarter-finals of the Swiss Indoors by winning against Dutchman Botic van de Zandschulp 6-4, 6-2 at the Halle Saint-Jacques in Basle on Wednesday evening.
Alcaraz, ranked No 1, will face the winner of the match between Swiss wildcard Dominic Stricker and Spaniard Pablo Carreno Busta, the No 5 seed, next.
The 19-year-old Spaniard edged out Jack Draper (3-6, 6-2, 7-5) in the previous round. This is the first time since the US Open Alcaraz is winning two matches in a row. He lost one of his two Davis Cup matches and was beaten as soon as the first round in Astana, against David Goffin, in September.
In the previous round, Van De Zandschulp, ranked No 35, edged out Frenchman Adrian Mannarino (6-4, 4-6, 6-4).
