Qatar Open: Kudermetova edges out Gauff

Russian Veronika Kudermetova, the No 8 seed, advanced to the last 4 of the Qatar Open by winning against American Coco Gauff, the No 4 seed, 6-2, 3-6, 6-1 at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex in Doha on Thursday afternoon.
Kudermetova, ranked No 11, will face Pole Iga Swiatek, the top seed, next.
Ahead of her victory, the Russian edged out Czech Barbora Krejcikova (6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (5)) and defeated American wildcard Sofia Kenin (6-2, 7-5).
Gauff, ranked No 6, beat Czech Petra Kvitova (6-3, 7-6 (6)) in the previous round of the Doha Open.
