Barbora Krejcikova reached the last eight of the Dubai Duty Free Championships by beating No 12 seed Petra Kvitova 6-3, 6-2 at The Aviation Club Tennis Centre on Wednesday evening.
Krejcikova, ranked No 30, will face Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka, the second seed, next.
Barbora Krejcikova won against Romanian Irina-Camelia Begu (6-4, 6-2) and edged out Russian Daria Kasatkina, the No 7 seed (6-4, 4-6, 7-5) in the previous rounds of the Dubai Open.
Earlier in the tournament, Kvitova, ranked No 15, defeated Italian Martina Trevisan (6-2, 6-1) and Kazakh Yulia Putintseva (6-4, 6-4).
