Austin Open: Kostyuk moves into last eight, Friedsam next

Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk, the No 8 seed, reached the last eight of the Austin Open by beating American Madison Brengle 6-3, 3-6, 6-0 at the Westwood Country Club on Thursday.
Kostyuk, ranked No 52, will play German Anna-Lena Friedsam next.
In the previous round of the Austin tournament, the 20-year-old Ukrainian won against Hungarian Dalma Galfi (7-5, 6-1).
Brengle, ranked No 95, won against qualifier Louisa Chirico (6-2, 7-6 (3)) in the first round of the Austin tournament.
