Defending champion Fritz cruises into last 16; plays Fucsovics next

Defending champion Taylor Fritz cruised into the last 16 of the Indian Wells Masters on Monday by beating Argentinian Sebastian Baez, the No 30 seed, 6-1, 6-2 at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden on Monday night.
Fritz, ranked No 5, will face Hungarian Marton Fucsovics next.
“I was ready today,” he said. “Knew what to expect. I played pretty solid. Got the job done.”
The American won against Ben Shelton (4-6, 6-4, 6-3) in the previous round. In the previous round, Baez, ranked No 35, won against Australian qualifier Rinky Hijikata (6-3, 6-1).
