Italian Elisabetta Cocciaretto, the top seed, reached the last four of the San Luis Potosi Open by defeating Slovenian Tamara Zidansek 6-2, 6-4 on Saturday night.
Cocciaretto, ranked No 49, will play Russian Elina Avanesyan next.
The 22-year-old Italian won against Mexican Marcela Zacarias (6-3, 6-0) and Argentinian Nadia Podoroska (7-6 (8), 6-1) ahead of her victory.
Earlier in the tournament, Zidansek, ranked No 112, beat Mexican wildcard Ana Sofia Sanchez (6-3, 6-4) and Russian Kamilla Rakhimova, the No 5 seed (7-6 (3), 6-3).
